One of the greatest lessons which I have learnt as a Christian is Humility. Whatever we have achieved or obtained in life, it is a gift from God. It is not that we are cleverer or better than others, but it is the grace and mercy of God to obtain what we have.
The Bible says –
“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” – Matthew 23:12.
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” – James 4:10
“By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.” – Proverbs 22:4
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” – 1 Peter 5:6
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
I pray for more Grace to live humbly before God and the people around me. In this way, we will obtain favour from God.
